Our play school is licensed under the Alberta Early Learning and Childcare Act, which means we can assure all families that we provide a quality program that is inspected yearly. Our playschool also is a part of the Alberta Child Care Grant Funding program, which helps keep costs affordable for all families.
Our mission is to provide every child in our community the opportunity for an affordable, high-quality program. Our early education program is challenging, yet play-based. Learning should be fun and interactive, allowing the child to grow, problem solve, build confidence and develop positive self-esteem. The curriculum that we implement into our daily program is based on the “Flight- Alberta’s Early Learning and Care Curriculum Framework”.
Learn-A-Lot Playschool is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to both our students, and our community. We work closely with the families, community members, staff at the West Meadow Elementary School and as well as the Livingstone Range School Division to provide a successful educational space for your children. As a non-profit organization, we are managed completely by our Board of Directors, which are voted in yearly by the current members.

Morning class hours are 8:45 to 11:15 AM
Afternoon class hours are 12:45 to 3:15 PM
Friday morning class hours (3-day program) are 8:45 to 11:15 AM

A Day at
Playschool
- Each day starts with outdoor play, a time for children to explore and socialize.
- After independently getting ready to start our indoor time, our students will have circle time. This includes time spent on our weekly letter and/or theme, stories, rhymes, songs and gross motor movement.
- We then transition into play time, which includes crafts and open play where kids can practice fine motor and social skills. Children learn through play with our different centers which change weekly.
- Snack time! As a non-profit organization, our families provide snacks throughout our school year for their chosen days.
- We now head back into circle time, where we will finish our day with a story and class activity.
- Before the day is done, we have our students practice independently to put away their indoor shoes and get ready to head outside for parent pick up.
While these are typical days for us, we do have special days, where we go to the playground or field near our school grounds to enjoy the outdoors.

Breanna has her level 2 ECE and loves working with this age of kiddos! Her favourite things to do with the kids are build, read, and dance. She hopes to help every child develop their social and emotional skills through connection and play.

Julia has been working in early education for over 10 years. She absolutely loves being the teacher and feels like this is the perfect job for her. She loves to read stories, create intentional play activities that strengthen growth and development, sing, dance and be silly with the children. She aims to make everyone feel seen and loved.

Alison
Alison has been an Education Assistant for 25 years. Her passion is to be with kids. She has been married for 38 years and has two daughters – Sydney 31 and Lyndsey 27 – and she loves spending time with them. She enjoys travel, reading, swimming, and crafting. Her favourite colour is orange and lucky number is 13.
